CROC COUNTRY

We decided to free camp on the Fitzroy River near Derby, to save some money before we attempt to cross the Gibb.  This would be a regular camping spot for us if we didn’t live so far away.  On the river bed, boat in the water, amazing sunset colours, Mike caught his very first Barramundi!

Lots of freshwater crocodiles(some salties too), sun themselves on the bank opposite.  We go croc hunting in the mornings.  Feel like the Irwin family!

We stayed 4 nights here then headed into Derby, to stock up on supplies for the Gibb River Road.  We are thinking we might take 3 weeks, it depends on the food situation.  There is no phone service so talk to you all in 3 weeks.
